Meningkatkan Motivasi Belajar Matematika Berbasis pada Karya Seni dan Budaya Masyarakat Lokal

Abstract :This research aimed to improve student motivation in learning mathematic based on the art work and local society culture. It was done in Public Elementary School Number 18 Tubung, where in the process it utilized Class Action Research (CAR). The process of CAR consists several cycles and has 4 activity phases: planning activity, performing activity, observation and reflection activity. Subject that utilized in this research was grade V students as much 14 people. Acquired result afters performs this research: student motivation in learning mathematic increased, where it appeared from the achievement percentage which was 29 % in first cycle and increased to 93% in second cycle. Therefore the student motivation was increased for 64%. In conclusion the student motivation in learning mathematic was increased do to the application of artwork and local society culture basis.

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan motivasi belajar matematika siswa berbasis pada karya seni dan budaya masyarakat lokal. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Sekolah Dasar Negeri 18 Tubung. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas atau sering disebut PTK. Dalam PTK terdiri atas beberapa siklus dan pada tiap siklus ada 4 tahap kegiatan, yaitu kegiatan perencanaan, kegiatan pelaksanaan, kegiatan observasi dan refleksi. Subyek yang digunakan adalah siswa kelas V SDN 18 Tubung sebanyak 14 siswa. Hasil yang diperoleh setelah melaksanakan penelitian ini ialah: motivasi belajar matematika siswa meningkat terlihat dari hasil persentase keberhasilan penelitian yaitu pada siklus I, siswa yang termotivasi 29%, dan pada siklus II, siswa yang termotivasi 93%, peningkatannya ialah 64% siswa yang termotivasi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan pada motivasi belajar matematika siswa di kelas V setelah pembelajaran berbasis karya seni dan budaya masyarakat lokal diterapkan pada materi bangun ruang, yaitu menyebutkan sifat-sifat bangun ruang.
